Today, I would like to share on how we can best learn from the wild animals in Africa in affiliate marketing …

By watching the African wild animals in hunt teaches many key lessons that can be applied to life in general and not just affiliate programs and affiliate marketing.

For instance the lion usually has lots of difficulties when it comes to hunting. This cat is built very big, strong and heavy. The result is that it is no match for the speed and agility of the antelope, its’ favorite choice for a hearty meal. So the lion is forced to focus on its’ strengths and use them for maximum effect.

This huge lion relies on stealth, surprise and the quick short dash - not unlike that of a well-built 100 meters sprinter. The lion’s advantage is in its’ strength which enables it to kill fairly large prey that would give smaller cats like the cheetah a lot of difficulties.

So, what has to with affiliate marketing ?  In affiliate marketing you need to ask yourself this: “What is my strengths and weakness?“.  Then knowing this, the next step would be to focus on those strengths and see how best to position them in relation to the affiliate program that you are involved with. What this means is that your affiliate program’s strategy may differs from that of many other affiliates. So, as an illustration, affiliate “A” is good at using PPC Adwords method but affiliate “B” may not be good at it …

For example, if you compare the cheetah with the lion, you will find that it has a totally different hunting method. In sharp contrast, you will find that this cat is light, agile and built for high speeds. No problems catching that small antelope in the herd scampering for safety. But unlike the lion, the cheetah cannot go for bigger prey (more meat) like the zebra or even larger antelopes.

Clearly, it will therefore be very foolish for the lion to wake up one morning and decide that since it admires the cheetah’s sheer speed and style of hunting, it wants to suddenly start hunting like a cheetah. It would be equally ridiculous for the cheetah to wake up one morning and decide that it wants to hunt like the lion.

So, keep this in mind when deciding on how to approach your affiliate program and on how best to market and promote it using the special skills and especially strengths that you already have.
