A Married Couple Gets Hyper About Their Irresponsible And Excessive Drinking And Contemplates Whether They Display Any Alcohol Dependency Signs

Angie and Lenny have been married for seven years. They wanted to experience some excitement and fun before they decided to have a family and so they deliberately fashioned an extraordinarily vigorous social life.

The key problem, however, is that virtually everything they do with their family and friends includes drinking. For instance, all of the happy hours, parties with friends, sporting events, family get-togethers, and dinner engagements they frequent somehow include drinking.

If they were infrequent drinkers this wouldn't be a major problem. Because they drink rather abusively, nevertheless, they are starting to perceive some instantly noticeable alcohol-related difficulties in their lives.

For instance, just two weeks ago Lenny was placed under arrest for his first DWI and has been overlooking responsibilities at work because of alcohol-related health problems. Moreover, Lenny's last two performance evaluations at his place of employment have been less than praiseworthy and he has started to forget what he does or says the times that he drinks. Finally, Lenny has been experiencing sleep-related problems and his family has begun to show concern about his drinking circumstances.

Angie, on the other hand, has been feeling unhappy about life in general and to cope with this, she has been drinking more than any time in the past seven months. What is more, Angie has been experiencing more than a few migraine headaches and suffering from excruciating hangovers from drinking. Lastly, Angie has been feeling considerably less energetic when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late virtually every Monday, and she has been receiving some unhelpful criticism from her coworkers, family members, relatives, and friends about her excessive and hazardous drinking.

One Friday evening while watching the television, Lenny and Angie without any planning whatsoever discovered an interesting documentary about alcohol facts and alcoholism facts in general and about alcoholism signs in particular. This television special was a real bombshell to Lenny and Angie because numerous alcohol facts that were discussed looked as if they were unquestionably correlated with some of the alcohol related problems Lenny and Angie had been suffering through.

With thoughts of the television special still running through her mind, Angie asked Lenny if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been displaying could be a warning that they are addicted to alcohol or perhaps becoming addicted to alcohol. Lenny didn't know the answer to Angie's inquiry and so he suggested that they make an appointment with one of the healthcare practitioners at the nearby drug and alcohol abuse rehab center to find out more about the gravity of their drinking situation.

Strangely enough, although their drinking situation hadn't yet changed, it was noticeable that Angie and Lenny were at least tackling their drinking problems, they were excited about finding out more about their drinking circumstances, and they were interested in learning how they could substantially cut back on or do away with the drinking-related problems that had started to emerge.

When Lenny and Angie went to bed that evening, they made up their minds that the next day, Lenny would call and make an appointment for both of them at the alcohol abuse rehabilitation clinic located in the next town. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to prevail over the alcohol-related problems that had materialized in their lives, they in point of fact had the most energizing night's sleep they could think of in the last five months.
