A Young Male Gets A DWI Arrest And Decides To Hire A DWI Attorney
Even though Franklin wasn't an attorney, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a "driving under the influence" arrest, represented himself in court, paid forty-five hundred dollars in penalties and fines, and served 30 days in the city jail. As he mentioned to his son, after he got out of jail, he found out from a lawyer friend that if he would have hired a DUI attorney to represent him in court, he more likely than not would have had his fines and penalties considerably reduced and he might have never served any time in the county jail.
When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more DUI facts and so he asked his father for more information about what a "driving under the influence" lawyer can do in a "driving under the influence" arrest. His father then articulated the following: "If you have prior DUI convictions, hiring a DUI lawyer to represent you is strongly recommended. Why? Because DUI lawyers know how to get prior convictions removed from your record, thereby possibly reducing your penalties to a great extent should you be convicted."
When Lawrence heard his father explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the relevance of hiring a DUI lawyer. Near the end of their discussion, Lawrence mentioned that he was beginning to understand more about "drunk driving" laws and what "driving under the influence" lawyers can do for an individual who has received a "driving under the influence" arrest.
After getting "schooled" about DUI arrests, the role of DWI lawyers, and the fact that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence made up his mind that he would without a doubt hire a "drunk driving" lawyer to represent him in court. Something else, however, took place after he had talked to his dad. Lawrence finally started to realize the critical nature of DWI arrests and, as a result, he decided that from this point forward, he would always drink responsibly so that he would never again have to experience another DWI arrest.
His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "Lawrence,it took me until I was thirty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am very proud of you." This did wonders for his self worth and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a DUI attorney again!"
Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is displaying any alcohol abuse signs or maybe if he is manifesting any of the common signs of alcoholism. Indeed, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol signs that point to alcohol abuse or alcoholism, he will probably need alcohol treatment.
Indeed, Lawrence may be mandated by the court to get rehabilitation for his careless and excessive drinking. The positive new, however, is that whatever it takes to face his hazardous and abusive drinking, it seems that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
